This camp is for competitive athletes who would like to do either of
two things:
- get into sculling for the first time
- take their sculling to that next level
The focus will be sculling in doubles and in quads, and athletes
will have an opportunity to get out in a single. If athletes have a single they
wish to bring - additional racking is available.
GUEST COACH FOR THIS SESSION:
Our guest coach who will be doing the coaching for this training
camp is Alan Oldham. Alan currently holds the position of Head Coach at the
Guelph Rowing Club and the University of Guelph Varsity Gryphons
Rowing. Alan won several OUA and National medals and represented Canada at
the Under23 World Rowing Championships in 2005 with his brother in the Men's
Pair event. His coaching career has been highlighted by the many Provincial
Championship crews at Leander and this summer at Guelph, back to back wins in
the Championship Women's Eights at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta (Leander
Boat Club 2008, Guleph Rowing Club 2009), and the 2009 CanAmMex Regatta, where
Alan Coached with the Canadian Jr. Development Team that captured two Gold, two
silver, and two bronze medals.Alan is currently completing his level 3 in the
National Coaching Certification Program and is actively engaged with the
National Team and opportunities for coaching development.
AGE: The camp is geared towards competitive athletes of any age. A chaperon will be provided for those less than 18 years of age.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?:
- Two coached on water training sessions per day
- One-on-one Initial, mid week and final reviews
with coach
- Video coaching session
- Off water core strength sessions
- Fireside chats
- Chaperoned accommodations at Cleveland's House, next door.
(Check in Sunday afternoon, Check-out Friday)
- All meals included (Sunday dinner - Friday
lunch)
PRICING:
Total price for this camp $1140 CDN (NO HST)
A deposit of $300 is required for booking, with the remaining amount to be paid upon check-in.
Pricing includes all coaching, review sessions, video coaching, accommodations, meals and accompaniment by a chaperon.
